On 09-04-11 Unit 1503 (Ofc Kent) responded to a 39/79 at 878 Peachtree St (Peachtree Lofts) . Upon arrival the officer was met by the concierge at the Peachtree Lofts, who stated that three black males entered the lobby and asked to visit their Aunt. They never stated which apartment she lived in . The concierge stated that there is no listing for this woman and he had never seen these people before.
The concierge stated that he could see a bulge in one of the males waist band. He asked them to leave and they left the lobby only to only enter the parking garage. The concierge then walked to his vehicle which he said was unlocked and obtained a Glock pistol and to retrieve a phone number to the Midtown Blue Precinct. He then returned to the lobby to call Midtown Blue when he observed his vehicle backing out of the parking lot.
The concierge then ran outside towards his vehicle and stated that he observed the driver waive a gun from inside the vehicle, through the tinted windows , and approximately thirty to forty feet away but could not describe the firearm. The concierge then fired two shots at the driver. One shot struck the right rear tire , and the other round went through the left rear door and struck the driver in the back as he was driving away.
The vehicle drove around the corner and crashed into a security gate . All three males then fled on foot outside the broken security gate. Blood was found on the driver seat of the vehicle. No fire arms were found in the vehicle . All surrounding hospitals were checked and a black male wearing the same clothing description was brought into Grady Hospital a few moments later with a gunshot wound to the back shoulder area.
An officer responded to Grady and spoke with the subject who stated that he and two of his friends were at the Five Points Marta station where he was shot. He did not have any ID and he gave a name of Jeraine Stubbes 02/11/1993 with a address of 900 Newtown Cir Apt 311. Stubbes was wearing the exact clothing described by the concierge including a specefic writing on the shirt. An ID Tech responded to process the vehicle and a detective responded to the scene. Another officer spoke with the complaint room and was advised to charge the concierge with Agg Assault. And to charge Jeraine Stubbes with Theft By Taking . The other two suspects are still unknown at this time . There are cameras at the location , however the concierge advised that they do not work.

On 9/15/2011 at 6:48pm several other officers responded to the Walgreens at 595 Piedmont Avenue in reference to an attempted business robbery. Upon arrival officers were advised that a white male suspect approached the front register with his hands in his pockets and acted like he had a gun. He told the cashier to “Open the drawer and give me all the money. I’m not playing, do it before I start blasting.” The pretended to have trouble opening the register. The suspect then told the cashier that she knows she can open it and that he was high. The cashier told the suspect that she could call her manager to the front to open the drawer, and she then used the intercom system and called for the manager using a code that is not used and also asked for a key, to alert the manager that something was wrong. While she was waiting for the manager a customer approached. The cashier told the suspect that she would help the customer and then give him the money. Upon discovering that they were being robbed, the manager took out her cell phone to call the police in front of the suspect, who then ran out of the store and fled on foot northbound on Myrtle Street. The employees stated that they never saw a gun. Several units canvassed the area and a person walking in the Midtown area advised that they last saw the suspect running north on Myrtle St. at 3rd Street. The suspect was not located. The commercial robbery unit also responded to the scene. The entire incident was captured on camera. There were no injuries.
The suspect was described as a white male late 40s early 50s, 5’10” 180-190lbs. He had white hair and was balding and also a white patchy beard. Bedford Pine Evictions
WSB-TV has reported that several tenants are being evicted from Bedford Pine for not calling 911. We find it interesting that Bedford-Pine chooses to focus on these tenants, and not the dangerous sex offenders and parolees living there (isn’t public assistance only for law-abiding recipients?). The sex offender registry shows one individual living in a Bedford Pine property with Aggravated Assault with Intent to Rape noted on his profile. A parolee shown to be living in Bedford Pine has a history of kidnapping, according to parole board records. Both the sex offender registry and the parolee database routinely show these kinds of individuals claiming addresses there. They come and go.
A great many tenants there will not report rampant drug activity because of retaliation. It’s all they can do to keep their children from becoming one of them. According to police sources, they generally beg the 911 operators not to have the officer come to their door. This raises another issue – in order to demonstrate that they are calling 911, the tenants have to put themselves or their children in harm’s way. Unfortunately, the police cannot be there as much as the drug-dealing thugs…
