Eishon Brinson – Was arrested on Friday (9/25) for cocaine possession by the Atlanta Police Department, and remains there as of this writing. This emotionally unstable individual frequently causes trouble in the neighborhood, with aggressive panhandling, trespassing, and irrational/belligerent conduct. He often snaps when frustrated. He often hangs around in close proximity to transgender & transvestite street prostitutes. He frequently loiters and panhandles at 10th & Piedmont area, and presents a serious ongoing problem for the restaurants around Myrtle & Ponce. Atlanta Police, MPSA Patrol, and Midtown Blue regularly lock him up for disorderly conduct and drug possession. He appears several times per year in the Fulton County arrest records.

Stolen Property Recovery Program
Fulton County District Attorney’s Office of Community Prosecution has launched a new program designed to help residents recover stolen electronics. The initiative allows Fulton County residents and business owners to register their electronic equipment with the DA’s office.
Participants can download an “Electronic Registration” form located on the DA’s website (www.fultonda.org) and register up to four electronic items, including make, model, and serial number for each. The information will be entered into a computerized database maintained by the DA’s office, and bar-coded stickers will be mailed to registrants to affix to their equipment. Owners will also receive a window decal, which reads “The Electronic Equipment Herein is registered with the Fulton County District Attorney’s office.”
Community Bulletin Board 9/28/09
The District 6 Candidate Forum will be this Thursday, October 1st, 7p.m. at Inman Middle School’s Auditorium. Four neighborhoods of NPU F (across the Beltline) – Lindridge/Martin Manor, Morningside Lenox Park, Piedmont Heights, and Virginia Highland – will sponsor this event. Candidates will answer prepared questions from representatives of the sponsoring organizations, and then they will open the floor to the audience until 8:30pm. After the conclusion, the candidates will remain on hand to socialize informally with attendees.
In July and August Campaign for Atlanta held forums at the Carter Center and talked with the top four mayoral candidates about the issues facing the city. Go to www.campaignforatlanta.org to find over two hours of high-quality, unedited videos of those forums, of in-depth discussions with each of the candidates.
If your organization would like for us to run an announcement under community bulletin board feature please submit a one-paragraph write-up (3-4 sentences tops including date and location), well in advance, along with a hyperlink to additional information on the subject. These should be significantly related to public safety in Midtown, but on a limited basis we will consider other topics.
Prowler Arrest
On Tuesday, someone reported an individual peeking into cars. Police & MPSA Patrol intercepted and arrested the 53-year-old James Bell for prowling. He was also found to have a knife in his possession, and several outstanding warrants for failure to appear.
Public records show criminal history including theft and robbery. Recent arrest activity indicates that he is known to carry a gun. He frequently roams the neighborhood.

Park Curfew Enforcement
Zone 5 routinely enforces park curfews (11pm to 6am) in the area, including Piedmont Park. Anyone present in the park during curfew hours is liable to arrest by the Atlanta Police Department. During last Thursday night into Friday morning, six individuals were arrested in the park in one sweep.
Residents note recent uptick in suspicious activity along 10th Street, namely that cruising for sex may be escalating into drug activity. Patterns to watch for during overnight hours include:
- An individual stopping along the park and tooting the horn, as if expecting to meet someone
- One individual parks in a dark spot, and then another car parks nearby. A brief transaction takes place between the two parties in one of the cars, and then both are gone again.
- Loitering in the area, or repeatedly walking by, clearly making no progress toward some final destination
