CourtWatch Update – July 1, 2016

An update on the State of Georgia v. Arquavius Strickland, David Wilson, Jacory Smith and Marquavious Conley Plea Hearing that took place on Friday, July 1, 2016:

  • 7 community members attended the hearing.
  • 10 community members sent a written Community Impact Statement
  • Defendant Wilson (18 years old at the time of the offenses) received a sentence of 50 years in prison, 40 years in prison without the possibility of parole, plus 5 years of probation after his prison sentence.
  • Defendant Strickland (16 years old at the time of the offenses) received a sentence of 40 years in prison, 30 years in prison without the possibility of parole, plus 5 years of probation after his prison sentence.
  • Defendant Smith (14 years old at the time of the offenses) received a sentence of 12 years in prison and 8 years of probation after his sentence.
  • Defendant Conley (15 years old at the time of the offenses) received a sentence of 12 years in prison and 8 years of probation after his sentence.
