Attack Near Piedmont Park
Our contacts in Virginia Highland alerted us to an attack near Piedmont Park, on their side of the Beltline. According the police report, officers from Zone 6 (covers that side of the Beltline) responded to a call about a person screaming on Park Drive. The officers found the victim standing in his driveway bleeding from the back of his head. While the victim was cleaning the tires of his car, two black males between 6 foot and 6 foot 2 inches, muscular, and wearing dark clothing came up behind him and started beating him. The assailants did not say anything to the victim or take anything from him. When the victim started screaming, the assailants ran toward Cresthill Avenue. The victim sustained a small cut to the back of his head, but refused services from Grady EMS responding with the officers. The incident remains under investigation, and no motive has been determined.
