Car Flyers may be a front for car break-ins
MPSA Patrol officers have enforced the ordinance relating to car flyers near and around Myrtle street.Two black males with backpacks maybe in the late 20′s attempted to place flyers on parked cars. An APD Mobile Midtown unit was recently in a chase with two black males who may have been up the something on 5th and Myrtle. Both had backpacks and did not appear to be homeless. The flyers may give perps a reason to look into parked cars then return later to break into them. Police officers on the beat believe that the two that fled may have had criminal intent beyond distributing flyers, because there was no true reason to flee.
If you see flyers being placed on cars, call 911 as it is an illegal act. Then send us an email as we want to keep track of what time of day/night this is taking place.
